About Longines
Longines’ brand motto, “Elegance is an attitude”, is perfectly embodied in its collection of graceful wristwatches. Founded in 1832 by Auguste Agassiz, it is considered one of the oldest watch brands in the world. Legend says that when Agassiz hired his nephew, Ernest Francillon, to establish its factory in the Swiss town of Saint-Imier, the town’s long meadows – les longines – ultimately gave rise to the brand’s name.  Longines is renowned for its rich history in horological innovations, involvement in historical events, and its extensive list of celebrity brand ambassadors. Technical Achievements
In terms of technical innovations, Longines is famous for creating some of the most technologically advanced chronograph movements of the early 1900s.
